To Denver with Lufthansa thanks to a project and a collaboration with Lufthansa and Visit Denver which took me discovering the Mile High City USA. Reaching Denver with Lufthansa was an experience whose keyword is “comfort” without any doubt.
To Denver with Lufthansa
Denver welcomed us and surprised us overturning our expectations. It’s not only the cowboys and gold diggers’ city or the uncontaminated nature’s city – as it is famous in the collective imaginary.#Denver overturned our expectations. #LHtoDenver @visitDenver Click To Tweet
I begin by this post telling you about our experience flying to Denver with Lufthansa in Premium Economy.
A lot of information and useful tips for people who have in their own mind to reach the United States and for you who asked me for that, with an immediate preview: yeah, travelling in Premium Economy is definitely unlike travelling in Economy. In view of a slightly higher amount, the travelling experience is completely different.Travelling in #PremiumEconomy with @Lufthansa: comfortable and with wide spaces #Denver #LHtoDenver Click To Tweet
Because – as we always say – travelling low cost doesn’t mean necessarily to spend the less possible but to have the best saving. But now let’s leave immediately!
Munich Airport new Terminal 2
To reach Denver with Lufthansa and Visit Denver you can do a stopover at Munich International Airport which has recently opened the Terminal 2.
It’s a big, huge, “airy” space thanks to its architecture and the windowpanes everywhere, where it’s very easy to move by the tapis roulants and easy to wriggle out of thanks to the very good signs.
The black armchair everywhere are comfortable and in the most peaceful points; in front of the great windowpanes there are sheer chaises longues where to rest comfortably.
In the center there’s a big, elegant food court with an almost endless world food choice. Furthermore, there are areas dedicated to children and playgrounds to entertain the little ones.
The whole airport has free Wi-Fi.
Then as regards Lufthansa specifically, there are many desks for the customer service as well as the automated check-in machines speeding up the operations.
Lufthansa Business Lounge
At Munich Airport there are the Lufthansa Lounge both for the First Class and the Business Class.
I had the chance to visit the last one and I must say that it’s a very good solution for people who have to spend more time at the airport for the connections.
It’s big and elegant thanks to design furniture solutions and it has comfortable seats both for people who want to relax (with a very wide choice of newspapers in the several languages) and for people who have to work with recharge positions.
The two areas are separated ideally by the furniture and allow in any case the necessarily peace.
A great buffet with a wide choice for any need is available and it’s possible to enter the lounge with the Premium Economy ticket with only additional 25 Euros.Travelling in #PremiumEconomy with @Lufthansa it’s enough 25 Euros for the #lounge. #LHtoDenver #Denver Click To Tweet
To highlight the possibility to have a shower for people who have to move quick for work.
The whole Lounge has Wi-Fi coverage, of course: here it’s faster compared to the rest of the airport.
To Denver with Lufthansa in Premium Economy
Our stop at the airport literally flies by and in a flash we are onboard Lufthansa flight taking us to Denver.
There are 21 seats in Premium Economy. Practically, whereas the seats’ disposition in Economy is 2-4-2, in premium economy is 2-3-2: this turn into a definitely largest space for the seats, the legs and for the lateral aisles.
In view of a less higher amount depending on the flights, it’s possible to travel really more comfortably and arrive to Denver, after more than 10 hours flight, much more relaxed. It’s possible to simulate the price difference directly on the Lufthansa website. When you purchase the Economy, you are suggested the upgrade with the relative amount.
To highlight that it’s also possible to take part in the auction and “win” the upgrade in Premium Economy.Take part in the auction #Lufthansa to win the upgrade in #PremiumEconomy. #Denver #LHtoDenver Click To Tweet
With the Premium Economy you can take onboard additional baggage (a very practical thing if your vacation or journey lasts quite a while). The seats are bigger, the possibility to lay down is greater and there’s enough space even to cross your legs comfortably.
A fresh bottle of water welcomes you immediately, ready on the seat and the display is very big.
Onboard there’s high quality entertainment with a movie choice both in original language and in Italian. The same applies to the section dedicated to children. What’s better for people travelling with children than using the long flight to entertain them with cartoons in original language? That’s different teaching them the English language at school, that’s another matter anticipating the destination like that. The same applies to the return when the children, after a vacation, realized “on the field” how it means to have a good command or not of a language.
Then there’s a series of sections dedicated to TV, radio, sport, business and economics. The graphic animations of the Lufthansa plane simulating the land where you are flying with the map and the several perspectives and the points of view (one of them it’s the effect to be at the flying controls in the cockpit) are funny.
The internet connection onboard is guaranteed by FlyNet. Don’t think about the first available connections onboard the planes by which you weren’t able to do anything.Onboard with @Lufthansa in #PremiumEconomy connected to Wi-Fi thanks to #FlyNet Click To Tweet
Of course, it’s not like the fibre speed but it allows to work and/or enjoy oneself in view of a reasonable amount. Reaching Denver with Lufthansa it will look be extremely quick.
It exists different fares and it’s enough 17 Euros to get the connection all over the flight. More than 10hours onboard: even if the entertainment is good, the Wi-Fi will make the time fly by quicker.
It’s also possible to say hallo from the sky vie email or via Facebook by free. FlyNet is available on all the long-range flights and in all countries except China: flying over China it disconnects automatically and then it becomes reinstated just outside the Chinese airspace.
Don’t forget, of course, to download the Lufthansa App to always have all information with you.
As regards the food onboard, Lufthansa offers a wide choice: besides the classic, you can choose among Asian, vegetarian , vegetarian Asian, low-calories, kosher, lactose free, salt free food and food for diabetics…
In short…all tastes and needs are satisfied. Then the touch of quality of the tray you are given it’s the glass and the steel silverware.
Denver International Airport
Once arrived to Denver International Airport you will be left gaping.
Its architecture has a strong call to the nature, a predominant feature of Colorado. The airport is under a tensile structure recalling the neighbour Rocky Mountains and seen from far it looks like almost a tepee tent camp of the Native Americans.
Cold materials like glass and steel with a masterly skill were matched with light shapes bewitching. Modernity are matched with vintage, with the history of Colorado and with its predominant features, think about gold and silver of the first gold diggers.
Denver Airport surprises because it’s almost an extension of the city which too many tourists use only as stopover and a passage. But today it has a lot to offer to who wants to stop a day, a week and more.#Denver Airport is an extension of the city with art and architecture. #LHtoDenver @lufthansa @visitdenver Click To Tweet
Art is everywhere. You run into it in the murals everywhere dealing with important themes, in the lighting and artistic installations along the aisles or along the escalator, in the Native Americans’ portraits, in the statues. It’s enough to look around to find out a curious issue at every step. And it applies both to the experts on art and to who never entered this world.
Walking though the airport is a very interesting experience.
From Denver Airport you can reach 85 destinations in North America thanks to Lufthansa and its partners. An important hub from where to start the journey or from where going on.
The whole airport, it’s useless to say, has free Wi-Fi.
What strikes on the arrival as well as on the leaving it’s the speed of controls. Despite being a real big airport, our exiting lasted few minutes. Forget the long and exhausting wait at the JFK in New York, for example.#DenverAirport: fast controls and #freeWi-Fi. @lufthansa @visitdenver #LHtoDenver Click To Tweet
All was really very quick. After a long flight, above all if you travel with kids, this is an aspect to highlight absolutely.
The same applies to the return. The controls are fast thanks to many long available ribbons. Also here we waited few minutes in spite of it was a rush hour. The long ribbon allows to rapidly prepare and pass quickly.
The Lufthansa Lounge at Denver Airport is shared by other companies and soon it will be completely restored.
The only hotel inside the airport is the Westin for people who have to spend the night maybe before a connection. It has modern and sound proofed rooms with wide windowpanes and even a swimming pool.
From Denver International Airport you reach the Union Station, in the downtown, by the new Airport Rail Line. It’s enough 9$ and 37 minutes. Handy and cheap. From Airport to #Denver with only 9$ and 37 minutes. #LHtoDenver @lufthansa @visitdenver Click To Tweet

We explored Denver thanks to Visit Denver and I will tell you about it in details. Certainly isn’t enough few lines to tell you about a lively city, to explore its art, its industrial districts today reassessed fulcrum of the movida and all the rest. For many useful tips it exists a page in Italian from where to start planning the visit.

Then the charming RiNo Art District breathing art in every brick. Not to miss in #Denver the #RiNoArtDistrict. Every brick breaths art. @visitdenver #LHtoDenver Click To Tweet
Then the shopping, the museums, the LoDo, the Lower Downtown with red brick buildings, the Rockmount Ranch Wear with its invention of the press buttons that sold its blouses to many very important people.
The blue bear watching inside the Colorado Convention Center became the city’s icon, but there are many other little treasures to discover, like The Cell, the sole museum in the world dealing with terrorism theme.
Then even Larimar, the shopping, the Colorado History Museum, Capitol State and the city parks. And I close this very quick roundup we’ll discover little by little together, with the Union Station, restored in a masterly manner and which became the lounge of Denver.
A unique place where to stop even only simply to spend time. The Station which is not more only a place of passage and transit but it becomes a meeting and socialization place with its rooms, cafes, shops and its charming cocktail lounge at the second floor (it is opened by reservation only) where to spend unforgettable evenings.
