Ibiza is a simple, near and low cost – except for the very high season periods – destination to travel to, but with some wariness. You’ll find here all our useful tips to plan a journey to Ibiza. Many useful tips to plan a journey to Ibiza! @gviaggilowcost Click To Tweet
Useful tips to plan a journey to Ibiza
First of all don’t worry if you travel with children. You can plan easily your holiday at last if you don’t travel in August and you’ll find certainly many bargains to save.
Purchase a flight to Ibiza
The period is very important. July and August are impossible months due to the really very high amounts. The amounts are often very high also purchasing the ticket quite a lot before. But you often find offers to take in a flash. It’s one of the main useful tips to plan a journey to Ibiza.
Hotels’ prices reach (a bit like we already experienced in Greece) crazy amounts in the very high season and then they fall drastically, maybe only 15 days later.
You think we were able to purchase an EasyJet flight to Ibiza from Milan for about 50€ in the first week in September: schools in Italy were still closed and the temperature on the island is still the midsummer one, really very hot.
Car renting in Ibiza
Once purchased the flight now it’s time to think about the car renting. We used Rentalcars. Practically I refer to them only since I had that problem at Naples airport last year. Perhaps many of you remember to have read it, I talked about it in my post about Bacau, too.
But the main question is: is it worthwhile renting a car in Ibiza?Rent the car in #Ibiza: yes or no? #lowcost @gviaggilowcost Click To Tweet
It depends, of course. Let’s see why. The car is convenient and allows to reach the whole island, also the less crowded areas. Renting prices are modest, be always careful to not purchase double covers.
But you have to keep in mind traffic is impossible. It will take you a lot of time to move and parking will be difficult as well but early in the morning.
So whether you prefer total relax, hotel or flat and beach, or you are going to visit the most crowded beaches (convenient and cheap public transport take you there) you can easily do without it or maybe rent it only for a few days.
Holidays by boat in Ibiza
The sea is very beautiful. The rocks, the caves and the indentations are charming. As it often happens by boat you enjoy the best. It’s one of the best ways to enjoy your holiday in Ibiza and it certainly cannot miss among the useful tips to plan a journey to Ibiza.
It’s possible to rent all sorts of boats, it will be enough a short research on the web: from sailing boats and catamarans to motor boats and simple speedboats with no obligation to have got the nautical license.Holidays #by boat in #Ibiza are wonderful! @gviaggilowcost #lowcost Click To Tweet
A small boat entirely for us with no need of nautical license allows to spend the day looking around among the coves, stopping to bath in idyllic little places, sunbathing and above all relax making rock softly by waves!
If you don’t like life by boat, if you have very little children and boat would become a stress, or simply you want to try the experience for a few hours max, speedboats are certainly the best solution.
The many charter websites offer this possibility, too: prices are published on the websites and along the beaches you’ll find many berthing where to rent.
It’s a very good way to spend an unusual day, to enjoy sunset in Ibiza: it occurs every day in the best location ever: sea!
Renting for more days, usually a week, the boat or even better the catamaran, is certainly the best solution. But to enjoy a taste of it, this is perfect!
It’s possible in the whole island and it’s certainly the quickest way to move. The island is very small and it’s always overcrowded by traffic. Except early in the morning, moving by car it means to be always in the queue and to handle crazy parking problems.
If you want to dedicate a day also to the tour to Formentera, there are really many daily ferries. Here, too, the scooter can be an easy and quick way to move and enjoy several beaches of this island.
On board the ferry, before you arrive, you’ll be offered rental car, scooter and bicycle. In my opinion, bicycle is impossible due to the hot weather and sun. Prices are not much cheap but keep in mind that on board they’ll cost a few Euros less and you’ll save time at desks.
Nightlife in Ibiza
Nightlife was always the main attraction of Ibiza. Night clubs are really many and all different.
They have cool furniture and design. As you know, I’m not fond of this kind of holiday but I must admit that looking around in the clubs and go in at the happy hour, admire particular couches and armchairs (studied with taste), incredible performances, lights, colours, music and even swimming pools to surf inside, make me even desire to come back at night. But only desire! Don’t worry!
Purchasing the tickets for the night…it’s as complicated more or less as purchasing the tickets for the parks in Orlando!
The stalls around the promenade are certainly a very good place to buy, but you have to pay really a lot of attention. Usually the offers advertised hide some tricks.Nightlife in #Ibiza. It’s complicated to buy tickets! @gviaggilowcost #lowcost Click To Tweet
Performances and admissions are all very expensive, but they are paid back by the performances put on. If you want to enter when there are the most popular names at that moment, you’ll have to be prepared to spend money and any all-in offer will never include these admissions.
Instead if you are only curious, probably the cheaper admissions will be enough.
Sunset in Ibiza
Sunset in Ibiza is a rite occurring every evening with applause and at full volume music. You enjoy it from the beach, relaxed, in front of a good cocktail.
We preferred the intimacy and the silence of our small boat, far from lights and noises. Then if we appear as midges surrounded by yachts that scream…it doesn’t matter!
Once got dark, the night turns on, the clubs come to life and the party begins!
And what about tomorrow? Beaches, boats, sun, wonderful colours, saltpans, rocks, catamarans and again a new wonderful sunset!Every evening in Ibiza the sunset show occurs! @gviaggilowcost #lowcost Click To Tweet
Saltpans in Ibiza
Ibiza is not only sea. Saltpans in Ibiza are right near the airport. A delicate ecosystem that is national park.
The flamingos can be admired all day quite near the road.
The neighbouring beaches are among the most famous and fashion ones in Ibiza. For this reason they are always hyper-crowded.
The useful tips to plan a journey to Ibiza provide for taking advantage of early in the morning which is the best moment to admire the saltpans and take a seat on the near beaches, of course. Because Ibiza sleeps until late in the morning!
Formentera, too, has its own saltpans.
Don’t change the place where to sleep. Once found your perfect accommodation on the site or once found it on the web, don’t change it. The island is very small and you will be able to reach any place by day.
Flats are the cheapest solution and the offer is very wide and variegate. They are rented even for only one night, too, and have every comfort. They have almost always the swimming pool.
Ibiza is not only an island for young people and nightlife anymore. But thanks to the many destinations more or less impassable in the Mediterranean and in Northern-Africa, by now it has become an island crowded by really many families crowding the beaches early in the morning, when, after the drinking party of the nightlife, all the other ones are still sleeping!
Don’t forget the hippy markets. The most famous one is Punta Arabi on Wednesday. A place out of this world and out of time (it was born in the 1970s) that certainly doesn’t have the charm of once, but among its stalls you can buy all sorts of odd purchases occurring to you!The #hippy markets in #Ibiza cannot be missed! @gviaggilowcost #lowcost Click To Tweet
Bad bits in Ibiza
What are the bad bits in Ibiza? They are many and they have certainly to be listed among the useful tips to plan a journey to Ibiza.
Unfortunately prices are absolutely off market: if you don’t purchase online transports, passages, boat, excursions…it’s very easy to be left behind (also out of season), but the help online is practically not existent on many websites.
Everyone offers email, telephone number and whatsapp for requests but then…they don’t answer!
The same thing applies to restaurants. In Ibiza you can taste a very good paella, but you’ll have to search it carefully and miss the dozens of offers of the most crowded promenades.
In the high season the island is very crowded and if you search for a holiday that isn’t only sea and night clubs, this destination isn’t the top. The saltpans, some tours towards the inland where to admire old mills, but the island doesn’t offer much more.
Ibiza: yes or no?
To me, Ibiza yes. But only if you can go there out of season, when the island takes again its more peaceful life and only if you can do it by boat. It’s the top for this! It will happen a lot of time to admire dolphins jumping while they are playing with the boat’s waves! It isn’t the top among the useful tips to plan a journey to Ibiza, is it?
