Prague is a European capital reachable and which can be visited in a low cost way: it has nice surprises in store for you.
It’s linked to Italy by handy flights which often cost 9 Euros one way all inclusive. Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, is a town to discover on foot, getting lost in its streets and among its huge monuments.
What to see in Prague in a weekend
To visit Prague and get an idea, it’s enough few days, a short weekend to enjoy a town rich in history, a town of a warm welcome, on the Moldava banks.
A must of Prague absolutely not to miss: the Old Town is separated from the Little Quarter by the magnificent Charles Bridge but with a lot of skill and a good planning it’s certainly not a problem the fact that they are just geographically close.
A very good starting point for the tour of Prague is the heart of the old town centre, that is the Old Town Square.
You realize immediately to have in front of you a town about which the relatively recent history comes out in all its aspects.
This Square finely restored shows proud on its sides the gothic spires of the Tyn Church, the statue of Jan Hus (a Czech reformer) and the very famous astronomic clock on the Town Hall façade, not to be missed when striking hours with all its characters moving.
It’s impossible to forget that just in this square took place the most important happy and sad events: from the coronations to the public executions.
On sunny days it’s advisable going up the Town Hall Tower from which you can enjoy a wonderful view of Prague.
Did you know the name of the town, Prague, means threshold? It was the threshold of the princess’ castle!
It’s a town suit for all age: for who is fond of history, for who searches for the Arts and the monuments and it’s very crowded by young people for beer and the night movida.
It’s a captivating lively town.
The Jewish quarter welcomes the visitor with the most ancient synagogue in Europe, but one of the attractions that bewitches all visitors is certainly Charles Bridge to see and cross.
It’s liveliness, the scattered artists, the stalls, the coloured and joyful atmosphere will ravish you immediately.
Absolutely to visit early in the morning, before the hordes of tourists besiege it and then again late in the evening, calm and light up with a wonderful view of the castle.
The castle, crucial centre of the history where everything happens, can be visited by handy guides in Italian language. Did you know this is the biggest ancient castle in the world?
Then why not booking a tour by segway since you are at it? A relaxing and funny way to explore Prague.
You can discover Prague on board a ferry on the river, too.
Several short cruises to admire the monuments, the history and the legends of the town from a bit different point of view.
All the tours have Italian versions: also for the laziest people will be a piece of cake.
Is it time to eat?
Prague will be able to astonish you with its thousands delicacies, whether you choose a refined restaurant (often with ridiculous prices), above all if you’ll go away a bit from the most crowded ones, or the classic street food.
In Prague you eat very good and to digest a bit it’s enough going towards the castle’s gardens, unbounded and perfect to walk.
For people who have more time in their hands the town has still a lot to offer: for example don’t forget the famous Dancing House.
A bit shifted from the town centre and a bit more inconvenient to reach, but it’s so famous that it deserves certainly a tour!
If you are still uncertain about what to see in Prague, I finish with a gem: the Beer Spa in Prague.
A place not to be missed for the lovers of the type which combines relax and floods of beer.
Beer baths, theme treatments, massages and even much more are waiting for you to make you live a really unique experience.
